No Reading for the Collective
Sunday's reading for The Collective was The Lovers. The Lovers are about making decisions based not on what is easy but what is right, just, and ethical not just for you but your Community.
As someone whose business is heavily if not solely dependent on social media to get new clients, not doing the Friday reading for The Collective will 100% have financial repercussions at a time where things are tight.
While the potential business loss is real tomorrow is much bigger than me. The National Shutdown is asking us to show up for one another when doing so will create discomfort. Showing up when things are easy is...easy. Showing up for one another that get us out of our comfort zone is where Community grows and where the real change happens.
Whatever you are able to do today show up with your whole self, in ways your can. DO SOMETHING. But to sit on the sidelines is no longer an option.
Don't let anyone tell you that strikes don't work. We've been brainwashed to think they don't. How do you think we got the weekend?
If you *truly can't* strike, check out @brightblackcandle's post from Wednesday over on Instagram about ways you can still participate.
